Your Windows Server and Linux virtual machines (VMs) running in Microsoft Azure require public IP addresses. In Managing Public Networking in Microsoft Azure, you’ll learn how to design, implement, and troubleshoot public IP addresses used both with VM virtual network interfaces as well as Azure load balancer front-ends. (Music) Hi everyone, my name is Tim Warner. Welcome to my course, Managing Public Networking in Microsoft Azure. I'm a Pluralsight staff author, Microsoft MVP, and Azure Solutions Architect. The public IP address resource in Azure is exposed to the internet, so it's deeply important you understand best practices for its design, deployment, security, and troubleshooting. This course is a thorough grounding in implementing and managing public IP addresses in Azure. By the end of the course, you'll understand which Azure resources should and should not have public IP addresses, and why. You'll know how to configure public interfaces for virtual machines and public load balancers. You'll also be able to monitor and troubleshoot public IP addresses so you know exactly what addresses are in use and why. Troubleshooting Public IP Addresses in Microsoft Azure
Hi there. Welcome to Pluralsight. My name is Tim Warner. This module is entitled Troubleshooting Public IP Addresses in Microsoft Azure. In the previous module in this course, I introduced you to using public IP addresses in Azure. We're now going to start by auditing those addresses, making sure we know what resources we have, and what they're actually bound to. We'll do that using Azure PowerShell and the Azure portal. I'll even give you a recommendation to a third-party product that I suggest to my consulting clients. We'll then examine the Azure DDoS Protection service, understanding how it can help us keep our production web applications and internet endpoints in general, online, and available. We'll then look at the built-in monitoring tools for looking at public IP addresses. We'll look at metrics and alerts in the Azure Monitor, and we'll also spend a little time with Azure Log Analytics. Finally, we'll look at troubleshooting connectivity to your Azure public IP addresses. We'll use the open source tcping utility, as well as the more robust Azure feature, Network Watcher. Let's get started.
